AI Manifesto

Making room
for the craft

By Sébastien Robaszkiewicz, Co-Founder & CEO, Jitter

We started Jitter with a simple mission: empower every designer to create exceptional motion in record time. It wasn’t just a product idea; it came from our own need for a creative tool that supported our momentum instead of slowing us down. That mission has been our north star from day one, and it continues to shape everything we do today.

Over the past two years, we built a tool that 10x-ed the speed of motion design workflows. Today, we’re stepping into a new chapter that can 10x it once more. This new chapter includes AI, but keeps designers firmly at the center.

We’re building Jitter for creative people. People who think visually, follow sparks of inspiration just to see where they lead, explore dozens of ideas to find the one that feels right, and trust this messy, exciting process throughout.

We believe AI can be a powerful accelerator on this path, but never a replacement for the designer. We see it as a creative sidekick that can brainstorm with you, nudge you forward when you’re stuck, handle the repetitive bits, and help you get from idea to final result much faster than before.

This is the vision we want to carry into this new chapter, and it starts with a few principles that guide how we build AI at Jitter.

Creativity is intrinsically human.

Taste, intuition, and vision are not replaceable. They come from lived experience: things you’ve seen, choices you’ve made, moments that shaped you. They are the spark technology can accelerate, but never originate.

Jitter was born from a love for design and a respect for craft. We’ve always cared about the small details that make design human: the curve of a path, the rhythm of an easing, the joy of seeing something click. To us, these details are at the heart of good design, and they’re the part we’ll always protect.

We believe the role of AI is to educate and assist designers, not to automate design. It’s to clear the path, remove friction, and give you back more time for the creative choices that make your work uniquely yours.

Creativity thrives in flow.

For us, the best ideas always show up in moments of flow: when you’re focused, when you find momentum, when the process starts to feel natural.

At Jitter, we see AI as a way to reach that state faster: to get you started, to unblock the blank page, to offer new directions when you’re stuck.

And just as importantly, we see AI as a way to stay in that state longer. To match your pace and help you draft ideas in the time it used to take to come up with them. To give you the right tools just when you need them, or step back quietly so you can stay in the flow without distractions, frustrations, or clunky workflows.

Your work will always stay yours.

We know that the use of AI in the creative space raises important questions about authorship, originality, and ownership. And as designers ourselves, we take these questions seriously.

At Jitter, we’ll always be on the side of creators.

We commit to transparency about how AI is used and to building tools that serve you, never substitute you. You will remain the sole author of the designs you create in Jitter, and your work and data will never be used to train our models.

In the coming months, you’ll see several AI features make their way into Jitter. But our north star won’t change: AI should never take the wheel away from the designer. We’ll continue to build things that enable you to do more of your work: better, faster, and with more joy.

We’re still early in this journey, and we’ll keep learning, listening, and experimenting with care. We’re excited for what’s ahead.
