How Ramp uses Jitter to create more animations in less time
Ramp is a fintech startup that helps businesses keep track of their finances and make smarter spending decisions.
The old way
Ramp’s design team had a lot to handle — landing pages, social media posts, video ads, and email campaigns. Before Jitter, motion wasn’t a regular part of their process. With just one person managing animations in Adobe After Effects, they didn’t always have the capacity to explore new ideas or scale up efficiently.
“We wanted animations that looked great, but the process was taking too long and holding us back.”
The new way
Ramp decided to try Jitter as a way to speed things up without cutting corners. The team quickly realized how much Jitter could do and made it a regular part of their workflow.
“Oftentimes, you have to choose between making something quickly and making something beautiful. With Jitter, you don’t have to make that choice.”
Quick adoption
Because of Jitter’s Figma-like interface, the team was able to start using it right away, without having to spend days learning how to use new software. They very quickly realized the tool was capable of much more than they initially started using it for.
“We started using Jitter just to class up our work here and there, and then realized how powerful the tool is. It enabled the team to take on much more complex motion projects.”
Smarter workflow
Since Ramp relies on Figma for most of its design work, Jitter’s Figma plugin made adoption even easier. The team just imports their Figma designs into Jitter in a click and starts animating right away.
“It doesn’t feel like we’ve added a new tool. Jitter just slides into our workflow and makes it better.”
Faster turnaround
Because every designer on the team can now create animations with Jitter, Ramp can incorporate motion into many more projects — and do that fast. For example, they created all the motion graphics for a major landing page launch — including detailed product animations and a hero graphic — in hours instead of days.
“What used to take days now takes hours. It’s amazing how much time we’re saving.”
Better teamwork
But it isn’t just Jitter’s accessibility that helps keep things moving forward. The collaborative nature of the tool, along with the fact that it’s web-based, helps the team move fast and get sign-off on projects quickly.
“Before Jitter, motion felt very siloed: you’re doing your work, then sharing it for feedback, then coming back to incorporate it on your own. With Jitter, it’s very easy to have people iterate together and pass around the link to get sign-off quickly.”
The results
With Jitter, Ramp is able to add motion to many more projects, making their landing pages, social media posts, and ads feel a lot more bespoke. Every designer on the team can now create animations and get them reviewed and approved quickly – without having to navigate cumbersome interfaces or workflows.
